PLEXCONNECT 2026 - An Industry Conference
The Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL), the apex export promotion body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, and CIPET under the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India, jointly present PLEXCONNECT 2026 – AN INDUSTRY CONFERENCE to be held on 30th July 2026 (Thursday). Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, from 0900am-0600pm.
The ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, and the broader instability in West Asia, have significant implications for the Indian plastics industry, which is heavily dependent on crude oil and petrochemical feedstocks. Any disruption in the region, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz—a critical route for global oil and petrochemical shipments—has led to higher crude oil prices and increased costs of key plastic raw materials, including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PVC, and polystyrene.
The recently signed FTAs pave avenues for Indian exporters by providing preferential market access, reduced tariffs, streamlined customs procedures, and enhanced trade facilitation measures. The point of discussion is still whether these are facts or just a fiction.
With this background, this one-day conference hopes to bring together exporters, industry leaders, policymakers, regulators, innovators, journalists, MSMEs, manufacturers, oil producers, consumers, and international representatives to engage in meaningful discussions on the opportunities, challenges, and future direction of the plastics and petrochemical industry.
We are delighted to share that SICCI (Southern Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry) is our Supporting Partner for the summit and will be unveiling a special Exporter’s Handbook on the FTAs and their benefits for the Plastic Industry during the Inaugural Session.
The key deliberations and recommendations from the forum will be documented and submitted by PLEXCONCIL and CIPET to the appropriate authorities for consideration and action.
